Biscoff cookies are known as Speculoos in Europe and are 20% of all the cookies eaten in Belgium. Visit Biscoff Coffee Corner today on PIER 39 and try these crisp caramelized cookies imported from Belgium.
The Simmons family has been a part of the San Francisco waterfront for over 40 years. UNIQUE TASTE.
CRUNCHY LIKE NO OTHER.
Lotus Biscoff is a small cookie with a unique taste and crunchiness. There’s a lot to share about this cookie–and even more to enjoy!
HOW CAN A SMALL COOKIE TASTE SO GREAT?
The story of Lotus Biscoff starts in 1932 in a local bakery in Lembeke, a Belgian town. The unique recipe was brought to perfection with carefully selected natural ingredients. Today, Lotus Bakeries is still family-owned and based in its home town. And from there, the tasty cookie continues to conquer the world.
THE SECRET OF LOTUS BISCOFF?
It all comes down to 3 simple things: its unique flavor, crunchy bite, and iconic shape. For many, it’s their cup of coffee’s best companion. For others, it’s an irresistible treat on its own.
NO ONE CAN RESIST THE TASTE OF LOTUS BISCOFF. CAN YOU?
It’s amazing how big the appeal of a small cookie can be. No one can resist the unique taste and crunchiness of Lotus Biscoff. Not even a simple cup. And that’s just the beginning. Watch what happens next!
BAKER BOONE’S TRUE CRAFTSMANSHIP
In 1932, a Belgian baker named Jan Boone Sr., creates a caramelized cookie with nothing but natural ingredients. He names it Lotus, after the flower that symbolizes purity.
COFFEE + LOTUS BISCOFF = THE PERFECT MATCH
In the 1950s, baker Boone starts wrapping cookies individually. It’s an instant hit. It’s eagerly snapped up by cafes and restaurants as the cookie and coffee have complementary profiles. They boost each other’s flavor. Not surprisingly, the name Lotus Biscoff itself is a combination of ‘biscuit’ and ‘coffee’.
BISCOFF CONQUERS THE WORLD
Over the years, Lotus Biscoff’s popularity rises far beyond the Belgian border. Coffee lovers all over the world ask for a Lotus Biscoff with their latte or espresso. Lotus soon finds more ways to enjoy the unique taste of these cookies by creating a cookie butter and a delicious ice cream.
LUCKILY SOME THINGS NEVER CHANGE!
Today, Lotus Bakeries is still family-owned and based in its home town. The ingredients of Lotus Biscoff are as pure, the taste as unique, and the cookie as crunchy as ever. Every year, there are 6 billion of them coming out of the oven, savored on all 7 continents.
